Meet Alina!

Alina Nicole Shats is completing her final year at the University of Tampa, where she is pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in Biology with a pre-dental concentration. Throughout her time in the program, she has been grateful for the collaboration, guidance, and hands-on experience she has received. At UTampa, Alina appeared in Life Is Short (Deborah), and she has continued building her performance career back in New York through several Off-Broadway productions, including Chicago (Matron Mama Morton), Legally Blonde (Vivienne), and the original production of The Escape (Andie), directed by Lauren “Coco” Cohn. Her work extending beyond the stage includes serving as Assistant Stage Manager for Leader of the Pack, operating lighting for A Very Potter Musical, and working as a Falk Theatre Stage Technician. She also serves as the current Vice President of New Member Affairs for Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honor Society. In addition to her theatre involvement, Alina is committed to her scientific studies and serves as the Pre-Dental Chair Representative for two on-campus organizations. After graduation, she looks forward to returning to New York City to continue pursuing performance opportunities and exploring the next steps in her artistic and professional journey.

The UTampa Senior Showcase, directed by Professor Paul Finocchiaro, gives our graduating seniors an opportunity to present themselves to an exciting variety of casting agencies, theatre and production companies, and other industry professionals. Join us tonight, December 6th at 8pm in the Ferman Center for the Arts' Charlene Gordon Theater and offer our seniors support and congratulations as they enter into the next stage of their professional careers!
