The Ohio Artist & Artisan Market LLC would like to Welcome to our 2026 Spring Event The Ceramics of Tyler Mashek of "Tyler Mashek Ceramics " from Akron, Ohio.

Tyler began studying pottery casually at the Canton Museum of Art. From those recreational classes, he found a new creative spark that has fueled a deeper practice. Formally trained as a classical musician, he treats his process as an extension of that background - improvising, experimenting, building upon previous ideas and working them into different forms. He’s had the fortune of learning from Bill Shearow and Sarah Debraun, both of whom have guided him in his studies. Tyler has been involved as a Pot Shop Assistant for several and is currently serving as the Pot Shop Manager for the Canton Ceramic Artists Guild. You can sometime find him streaming his making process on Twitch as TylerTheMostPerfectestBoy.

I make ceramic pieces that are for functional daily use as well as decorative pieces. My process focuses around wheel thrown pottery and finished with an eclectic swath of glaze and texture combinations. For my decorative work, I’ve recently become very taken by the Raku firing process and its aleatoric nature - while I can have an idea how a glaze will behave, the fire and smoke ultimately decide how the piece will turn out in the end.

The Ohio Artist & Artisan Market LLC would like to Welcome to our 2026 Spring Event The Pottery & Woodwork Art of Dale Krieg of "The Dabble Shack" from Louisville, Ohio.

My wife and I both do pottery and I am also a woodworker. I started working with wood as a child with my father and grandfather. When my daughter was in her teens we would take art classes as a way to spend time together. She suggested a pottery class CMA and I was fascinated by it. I have been with the museum for 10 years now. My wife started shortly after we met. She made the comment that she could throw a better bowl than me. I signed her up for a class the next chance I got. And here we are.

We both work in Clay, I do vessels and she does small sculptures. I also do wooden bowls and a few other wood pieces. Sometimes I will combine the woodworking into my potter piece.
