My heart is saddened today by the unexpected death of my friend, team member, and fellow shooter Paul Warren. Paul passed away yesterday in his sleep.
If you didn't know Paul, you really missed out on someone very special. Paul was the type of person who was always there to volunteer his time for community and shooting sports. If a match need additional Range Officers, Paul (and his son Jonny) would often work the match and leave without ever asking for anything in return. He simply knew that help was needed and he would serve.
Paul was one of the original Match Tracker members and was recently elected President of the Alexander City Shooting Club.
Paul ran our local Steel Challenge matches and welcomed new shooters as if he had known them his whole life. His calm demator and ability to explain things with a clear understanding will be missed.
Paul was a NRA Pistol Instructor and a Range Officer in both NROI and NRA. Paul attended Auburn University and was in the graduating class of 1989.
Most importantly Paul was a man of GOD and family. It was not unusual to see Paul, his wife Michelle and his son Jonny competing against each other in shooting matches and immediately show a father and husband's love as the last shot was fired.
In addition to Paul's love of the shooting sports he was a licensed Ham Radio Operator and loved the art of Bushcraft.
I know GOD has a seat for Paul at his table. I believe that Paul was only 57 years old.
Please pray for Michele, Paul's wife of over 32 years, Paul's son Jonny, and his daughter Jordan as well as the whole Warren family.
As I get more information about his funeral plans and services, I'll pass it on as soon as I can.
Please pass this information along to all Match Tracker team members.
