33 Variations by Moises Kaufman
March 11-14 @ 7:30pm; Studio Theatre
Director: Jeff Clapp

A mother coming to terms with her daughter. A composer coming to terms with his genius. And, even though they’re separated by 200 years, these two people share an obsession that might, even just for a moment, make time stand still. Drama, memory and music combine to transport you from present-day New York to nineteenth-century Austria in this extraordinary American play about passion, parenthood and the moments of beauty that can transform a life.

Don’t miss your chance to see this amazing show!

Spotlight on… Erika Leblanc! Erika is a third-year BFA Musical Theatre and BA Political Science double major and dance minor at PLU. Something that Erika loves about PLU Theatre and Dance is how many opportunities PLU has for students to perform. PLU students can participate in both faculty and student shows starting in their first year which is something unique our departments compared to other collegiate theatre programs where underclassmen have less opportunities. Next year will be Erika’s final year at PLU after she graduates she hopes to pursue musical theatre performance full time.

Spotlight on… Dorothea Koetje! Dorothea is a senior musical theatre major with a Hispanic studies minor. One thing she loves about the P.L.U. Theatre and Dance Department is how involved students can be in all areas. She has gotten to direct, costume design, act, choreograph, assistant scenic design and work in many ways on different productions. Especially with student theater, students get to take what they've learned in class and apply it practically in a supportive environment.
