Sadly, the Northwest Museum of Cartoon Arts is going to be shutting down on June 28th. If you love comic books, try to make it down there before they close... right now they have a Will Eisner exhibit, which will be amazing to see the work of one of the pioneers of the industry.

Sadly, NWMOCA is closing June 28th with the Will Eisner Retrospective as our final exhibit. Please stop by if you haven't seen it. As we close, everything in our gift shop is half price.

Starting in July, we will be selling all our furniture and equipment at greatly reduced prices. Please contact us if you have any questions and thanks for all the support! https://nwmoca.org/contact/

16 shows. 17 years. One heck of a journey.

Back in 2008, Brian and James started sketching out an idea for a comic convention that felt like the shows of the 80s and 90s, focused on comics first, with a little modern flair. Just a great experience for comic book fans.

The very first Jet City Comic Show launched September 25, 2010, at the Seattle Convention Center's Exhibition Hall, affectionately known as "The Dungeon" by the local comic community. We didn't even have a page yet (that came in 2012!).

After three years in Seattle, we made the move to Tacoma in 2013, a city that hadn't seen a comic convention since the early 90s. A lot of people doubted it. Tacoma didn't. They welcomed us with open arms, and we've been here for 13 years since.

Today, We are the 3rd longest-running comic convention still operating in the Pacific Northwest (just a name and format change to Grit City Comic Show).

None of it happens without YOU, the fans, the guests, and our incredible vendors. Thank you for 16 shows. Here's to many more.

When Lucy van Pelt says she wants to return to Grit City Comic Show… who are we to say no! Plus, we don’t want to get bullied. Welcome back, the voice of Lucy van Pelt from Peanuts, Melanie Kohn, at the Tacoma Convention Center on November 7th.

Melanie Kohn started in theatre at three years old and landed a role as an extra in The Godfather at seven. She went on to voice “Lucy van Pelt” from 1974-1977 in “Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown,” “It’s a Mystery, Charlie Brown,” “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown,” “You're a Good Sport, Charlie Brown,” and the full-length feature film “Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown.” She also voiced “Lucy” in TV commercials for Weber’s and Millbrook Bread.
