Unleashed at Stadium Bowl

Participants race the stairs of the iconic Stadium Bowl to raise money for Kindred Souls Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit animal welfare organization. We finish.

Tacoma is Grit City. Grit means, ‘indomitable spirit, strength of character, unyielding courage in the face of danger or hardship’. Grit must be earned through effort. SHARED STRUGGLE:
Unleashed at Stadium Bowl is a challenge for all participants regardless of age, gender, build, etc. On the stairs we are one. KINDRED CONNECTION:
We are a group of diverse individuals who are choo

sing to challenge ourselves to do our best in what feels like an impossible feat. We don’t quit on each other or ourselves. And when we cross the finish line and high-five each other we are the same in that moment. WHAT IS UNLEASHED? Participants will run the stairs in a competitive timed event or walk (untimed). The race will cover the entire Stadium Bowl, ‘weaving the stairs’ by running up one staircase, and down the other. Total steps climbed 814, total descended 814 for a grand total of 1,628 steps. All spectators will stay on the field. There is no entry fee for spectators, so come watch and cheer on the racers! WHY? To raise money for the rescue animals of Kindred Souls Foundation. Kindred Souls Foundation provides sanctuary to abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats, a holistic approach to their care, and education on the rewards and responsibilities of animal companionship. WHO? Anyone 8 years or older. WHEN? Sunday, August 7th, 2022

Race Volunteers Wanted!

"Do I have to walk or run the stadium stairs if I volunteer" ?!

No! We do have volunteer positions that require being on the stairs, but we have many that do not. If your primary concern about supporting Unleashed at Stadium Bowl as a volunteer is a concern about running or walking the stairs, then please put those concerns aside.

Unleashed at Stadium Bowl is the annual fundraiser for Kindred Souls Foundation. KSF is 100% volunteer-run and 100% of the race net profits go to our medical fund for the animals.

Results for Dr. Thiessen's 'Lap Dance' fundraiser are in and we have great news! Not only did she ⭐exceed⭐ her goal of $11,000 but we have received a 100% match 🎉

Thanks to Dr. Thiessen's grit and love + all of the donations + match, $26,514.88 was raised for our Kindred Souls Foundation medical fund!!!

We specialize in medically fragile cats and dogs, so this gift will help the animals get the care they need to maintain and enhance their quality of life.

One of the many reasons we love our annual event, Unleashed at Stadium Bowl, is the positive vibe that it brings out in everybody. As Dr. Thiessen is racing towards the finish line to complete her 11 laps (consisting of 17,908 stair steps) Dr. Houfek joins her in support!

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Thiessen, Dr. Houfek, and all of the other doctors and team members at Chambers Creek Veterinary Hospital. They support Kindred Souls Foundation with the same love that you see in this video.
