Look back in history. Some of the best records and stories come from the journals and diaries of people who were there during trying times. This is going to be a period of time that will be “looked back on” in the future. I have been encouraging people to have their students and children at home create Book Creator journals of their perspective of what it is like to be living through these stressful times. Book Creator offers such a great way to easily construct a personal book of writing, photos and videos! If nothing else— print out the books, put them away somewhere safe and bring them out when they turn 25 so they can see how they got through this global crisis. www.bookcreator.com

I was in a global Twitter chat yesterday about “remote” teaching. I am passing on my comments to all of you. PLEASE understand that teaching online is NOT the same as teaching in a classroom! Teachers cannot learn to do this in an hour “training” session. If you are a teacher who has been thrown into this— start (and keep it) SIMPLE so your students (and you) gain confidence. If you are a parent— BE PATIENT— the kids will catch up once we get through this. Try to figure out how to share your electronics and KNOW that there will be all kinds of crazy complications getting any distance learning set up. (And it wouldn't hurt to have the kids keep a notebook or a Book Creator app book) of things they learn or WANT to learn more about! Hang in there folks!
