🍂🍁 IMPORTANT RACE DAY DETAILS! 🍂🍁
RACE STARTS AT 10:00 A.M. ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19, at Henninger High School (600 Robinson St, Syracuse, 13206).
Packet pick up: 8:00-9:30 a.m. in Henninger High School gym.
Parking: NO PARKING in the Sunnycrest Ice Rink parking lot. Please park in the Henninger lots (behind the school). Turn right off of Robinson St into the lot. See the map on our website https://www.eastwoodneighbor.com/about and look for volunteers directing traffic!
Facilities: Bathrooms are located inside Henninger High School near the gym.
The course: Start line in the Sunnycrest Ice Rink parking lot. Line up at 9:45 a.m. for important announcements! Arrows will be marked on the pavement. You can view the course map here: https://www.eastwoodneighbor.com/about
SAFETY FIRST! This is NOT a closed course. PLEASE use caution when crossing all intersections. We will have volunteer course monitors on the corners but we want to reiterate the importance of awareness and safety. A police car will lead the race, and police officers will be stationed at the two Midler Ave crossings. Volunteer bicyclists will travel the route to assist the runners as needed and to follow the last runner in. Attention walkers: the volunteers will leave their posts after the last runner has passed. For your safety, please move to the sidewalk once all the runners have passed.
**There is an ongoing water main replacement project that is impacting Forest Hill Dr and Sunnycrest Rd in Eastwood. We are monitoring the situation and coordinating with the City to make sure the race course is clear, but please use caution near these intersections.**
There are 2 water stations on course (Mile 2 and Mile 4).
Downhill sprint to the finish line at the entrance to Sunnycrest Golf Course! Please keep the finish line clear once you have crossed.
Post-race: Refreshments and awards in the Henninger gym. Awards at 11:15 a.m. (approx.) Cider, donuts, bananas, coffee, and other snacks courtesy of Wegmans, Dunkin, Russo Produce, The Cracked Bean Roastery, and The Curd Nerd. All runners will be entered into free raffles for some great prizes donated by local businesses including The Eastwood Refillery, Pies Guys Eastwood, Water Street Bagel Co., and Luv Handlz Fro-Yo. (Must be present to win.) Top male and female finishers receive $75 gift cards courtesy of the Eastwood Neighborhood Association! 2nd and 3rd place overall winners receive gift certificates courtesy of Fleet Feet Syracuse!
