🐻 BEAR ALERT! 🐾

Heads up, Fort Loudoun friends! A juvenile black bear has been spotted hanging around the island. While we thought it might be a one-time sighting, it seems this fuzzy fella has decided to make Fort Loudoun his summer home! 🏝️🐻

We want everyone to enjoy their visit safely — so please follow these BEAR-y important guidelines while at the park:

🗑️ Pack it in, pack it out. Trash should go in trash cans or taken with you. Bears have a nose 7x stronger than a bloodhound, and they love your leftover snacks.

🍔 Do not leave any food (or that half-eaten PB&J) unattended. If it smells tasty, it’s fair game to a bear.

🎒 Keep personal belongings close. Bears are curious—and your backpack is not a bear toy.

🚫 Please do NOT feed the wildlife. This isn’t Yellowstone, and our bear isn’t running a snack stand.

🐻 Don’t let the fuzzy face fool you. Yes, he has teddy bear vibes and comically large ears, but no, he is not your buddy. Please don’t approach, poke, pet, or selfie with the bear.

🔊 If you see the bear, make noise from a safe distance. He’s not a fan of sudden surprises (and really, who is?).

👀 Report bear sightings to park staff. The sooner we know, the sooner we can keep everyone safe—including our furry neighbor.

📍Reminder: Fort Loudoun is a day-use only park. So while the bear may spend the night, you shouldn’t!

Well, I did it. I planned and hosted a garden party. I have been thinking of this for years. How women might invite others over to their garden and relax and learn from one another, and enjoy one another.
It started out as wishing a few friends could come over to have a fire in my garden (as I am 3 months postpartum and have felt the need for womanly connection in my life lately). Within a week, my idea had turned into needing a gold table and chairs for the garden and an excuse to throw a lavish little party.

We had Easy Like Sunday Morning Tea from my friends tea shop Deeply Rooted Tea and Such. With scoops of collagen added served over ice🥃
I served lettuce wedges with homeamde ginger dressing (the carrots I used were beautiful - from Dirt Poor Farm here close to sweetwater) and pansies.
We had fruit on the tables lined with mint and candle light.
I cooked noodles as ladies mingled before dinner.
We had spaghetti and bread. (Pasta is a love language, I am sure of it)
And the best locally made chocolate from Towns Toffee served in pewter dishes over ice. I can't think of anything more decadent than it was.
I have dreamed of this event.
Thank you ladies who were able to come and support me and my wild ideas.
We were given a gorgeous sunset, kitten circles, and a cozy dinner in the barn.
And thank you Wendi Mae Olson from the Whistlestop Manor for all your support friend
I love you all!

And thanks to me husband who works so hard to make me happy, and who took our toddler for the day!
Thanks to my mama who held my baby and gave me love for whimsical gardening.
Thanks to my girls who worked hard and were the best bread servers ❤️❤️

Star Gazing night 2024 - my favorite event we do in the fall.

We are a family owned business. We invite others into our space and it's truly magical.

We had family, friends and strangers hangout in the field and enjoy live music, s'mores, late night meditation and of course God's beautiful creation in the sky. I am so thankful for everyone that came and shared this time with us.

These two are getting married here today!
This week, all my to do lists have been erased and replaced with "It's happening!"
This couple means so much to us. I have loved them both long before they were a couple, and getting to watch them grow as individuals, then thier love story and God's goodness over all of it has been so beautiful over the years.
I am so thankful they are getting married here at Foggy Hollow Farm and all the sentimental parts that have come along with it. What an honor.
