Dust off your boots and straighten your hats—the search is officially on!

Applications for the 2027 Rodeo Queen and Princess are officially open, and we are looking for the next incredible ambassadors to represent our rodeo family, community, and the timeless western lifestyle.
Whether you’re a seasoned rider looking to step into a leadership role or a young woman passionate about community service and western heritage, this is your chance to shine.

Here is what you need to know about this year’s titles and some exciting new upgrades to our prize packages:

👑 The 2027 Rodeo Queen

Our Queen represents the heart and soul of the rodeo mission. This year, we are thrilled to elevate our support for her future and her hard work:

$500+ Educational Scholarship: Awarded to help the Queen pursue her higher education or trade school goals.

NEW Trophy Saddle: In addition to the crown and sash, our 2027 Queen will walk away with a gorgeous, custom-designed trophy saddle to ride in pride all year long!

👑 The 2027 Rodeo Princess

The Princess role is all about building confidence, learning public speaking, and engaging with our community.

No Horse Ownership Required: That’s right! If you love the rodeo world, western heritage, and community outreach but don't own a horse, you can absolutely still run for Princess. This role focuses on ambassadorship, personality, and passion for the sport.

May 18th, 6pm!

We will congregate at our normal location (Sutherlin Community Center-Small meeting room) then walk over to the grounds. All community members are welcome to participate! This is a great time to casually meet our growing Rodeo Committee and see if this is an organization you’d like to be a part of.

We do a lot more than rodeo, from face painting, to parades, and multiple scholarships. Our volunteers have worked hard to provide community events and opportunities, especially for the youth of our community.

This summer the grounds will host two different livestock camps free of charge to our youth! These types of camps traditionally cost hundreds of dollars for each participant.

Participation in “Work Meetings” is a great way to get involved. We’d love to see you there and be a part of something larger than yourself!

For 38 years, Pat Greer (our secretary) has organized large community Easter egg hunts. This year is no different. She has wrangled volunteers from the Stampede, BlackBerry, (and more I’m sure) to stuff thousands of eggs for her next Easter egg hunt.

The Sutherlin Stampede is incredibly lucky to have a volunteer with as much history and community involvement as Pat. Thank you!
