Look closely at the petals in this one. Debra Jan Hall builds up her paint so thick with a palette knife that the sunflowers and hydrangeas in "Funky Razzle Dazzle Bouquet" almost lift off the canvas.
Debra Jan is one of 109 juried artists exhibiting at Sugar Land Arts & Music Fest 2026, working in bold color and heavy texture to create pieces meant to be felt as much as seen. In her words: "I am a painter who loves exploring color and textural discovery... each piece is created to spark joy, evoke emotion, and capture a feeling or memory that lives on in your space."
Debra Jan also chairs our Artist Committee this year, helping guide the jury process that brings artists like her into the festival. We could not put this event together without her. 🥰
