Sugar Creek Slavic Festival Celebrate Kansas City's rich Slavic heritage with music, food, dance, drink and more June each year.

Since it began three decades ago, the Sugar Creek Slavic Festival has grown to become one of the premier celebrations of Slavic culture in the nation. The Festival attracts thousands of visitors each year to see a living display of the customs and traditions passed down by the Slavic immigrants who helped settle Sugar Creek in the early 20th Century.

It's World Cup time in KC and we're Kickin' It Slavic Style at Sugar Creek Slavic Festival 2026 with soccer themed contests that will get you in the game! Both Friday June 12th and Saturday June 13th, grab a partner and hit the dance floor to the Alex Meixner Band in the Red Card Dance Off.

Judges from the Slavic Festival Sports Federation (SFSF) will hand out yellow cards for dance "fouls". Commit a second "foul" and it's a red card. Commit a bad dance "foul" and it's straight to red. It's all in good fun, and sorry there's just no Video Assistant Referee to bail you out!

Over the past 40 years, we've been blessed to share Kansas City's rich Slavic heritage with thousands of visitors from the Midwest and beyond.

It's a sense of community that bonds us together as a Slavic people. But more than that, we've grown into that celebrates what makes life special. Spending time with each other and sharing great food, music, dancing, art, stories and more.

If you've never been, we invite you to join us June 12th and 13th and the Sugar Creek Slavic Festival 2026. And for those we've celebrated with before, we hope to see you again.

Kolo Time with Alex Meixner Music is back BOTH Friday and Saturday at Sugar Creek Slavic Festival 2026! 🎶

Did you know the word “kolo” means “wheel” or “circle” in Slavic languages? That’s because traditional kolo dancing is performed in a circle!

Apparently people REALLY love wheels and circles…because they’ve been singing about them for decades. 😄

Don't miss the fantastic Sugar Creek Kolo Kids - performing both Friday June 12th and Saturday June 13th at Sugar Creek Slavic Festival 2026.

Performance time is 7:15 pm both evenings. Plus, you can see the kids help us kick things off with the Children's Costume Parade at 6:15 pm on Friday!

We love watching these young entertainers learn about their heritage and get a taste of the performing life.

Did you know you can register a team or as an individual to participate in the Cabbage Cup Relay? Well now you do!

Match time is 6:45 pm on both Friday June 12th and Saturday June 13th at Sugar Creek Slavic Festival 2026. For details and registration, visit slavicfest.com/cabbagecup. Two teams of five will be selected to dribble a cabbage through an obstacle course for a chance at glory.

This Memorial Day, we honor the estimated 1.5 to 2 million Slavic-American men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces - especially the estimated 50,000 to 60,000 killed in action.

From Michael Strank, one of the six Marines who raised the flag on Iwo Jima and was killed in battle days later - to Mary Klinker, a flight nurse in the U.S. Air Force who was killed on a rescue mission in Vietnam - we remember their courage, service and sacrifice.

This year, Sugar Creek Slavic Festival 2026 will collectively honor the contributions of Slavic-American military veterans with induction into the North American Slavic Hall of Fame.

We are also building a virtual Wall of Honor and invite families to submit the names and stories of Slavic-American service members so their legacy can be remembered for generations to come.
