Join us to learn how your group can participate in this nationwide event that strengthens police and community partnerships, promotes public safety, and builds stronger neighborhoods throughout Suffolk.

Remember that show "Are you smarter than a fifth-grader?" You might be hard-pressed when you compare yourself to some sharp students at Booker T. Washington Elementary.

They're part of a pilot program that places them in roles requiring cool heads and quick decisions.

This event began 13 years ago in a parking lot at Sentara Obici Hospital. Three neighborhoods — Applewood, Burnett's Mill, and Hillpoint Farms — decided to pool their efforts and build something bigger than any one neighborhood could do alone. You've made it something Suffolk can be truly proud of.

Tuesday night was a night to connect with neighbors as local police officers work to make our streets safer. That's the goal of National Night Out events, one of the biggest of which was in Suffolk.
