Winter is here. Freezing temperatures, ice, and snow. When we heated my studio we got a mini split with a freeze protection mode . Comes on if the temperature in the studio goes below 49 ° F. Ever seen clay that has frozen and thawed? Not good! Turn the heat on in the morning and hit the studio after lunch with hot water to put in the throwing water. My arthritic hands appreciate it!

So I am participating in Chestertown RiverArts Studio Tour again this year. Hope to have many of you come see my work space! I'm 2 miles in on Rt 300 when you turn off 213 into Church Hill.

So this is the next show at Chestertown RiverArts. There are 2 exhibits, one in the main Gallery showcasing ceramic artists from the Chesapeake area and one in the gallery next to the Clay Studio. I've been helping with both exhibits but have been more focused on the Clay Studio show. It will have work from a number of the potters who teach in the Clay Studio (including me) along with many of the potters who make work in the studio. Come check out both the exhibit and the wonderful space they use to express their creativity! Where will be receptions in both galleries this Friday, March 1st, 5 to 7 pm.

ALERT: my husband has an upper respiratory infection. We both tested negative for covid this morning. I won't be putting the Studio Tour sign out and I will be greeting anyone who comes up the driveway with my mask in place. Sorry everyone.

Last weekend of the RiverArts Studio Tour. Take a break from town and come sit in the shade. Can't see having hot cider but will have some snackage!snack age! Fall colors are wonderful and I am planning to be throwing on the wheel(s) this weekend.

Mopping those floors one last time before the RiverArts Studio Tour begins tomorrow at 10am. Turn in the driveway and follow the smaller signs to parking and the studio. Looking forward to visitors!

Demonstrating on a MiniMakr wheels outside the Square Rose with Monica Graham, who is a dollhouse scale potter. Amazing work! Come on down to the Galena Dogwood Festival.
