🎡 Want to be part of the action at next year’s Door County Fair? 🍀

4-H enrollment is NOW OPEN! 🙌

From animals 🐄🐓🐖 to photography 📸, baking 🧁, art 🎨, plants 🌻, woodworking 🔨 and SO much more — 4-H has something for just about everyone!

Joining 4-H is a great way for kids to learn new things, make friends, try something new AND become part of all the fun at the Door County Fair! 🎟️✨

A new 4-H year has officially begun and enrollment is now open! Current 4-H members and volunteers need to log in to 4HOnline and re-enroll for the new year. If you are new to 4-H and are looking to join, we are excited to have you! Visit our website for information on how to enroll: https://door.extension.wisc.edu/joining-4-h/. Members are encouraged to enroll early to avoid missing any important information and to make sure you get the most out of your 4-H year!

Volunteers - re-enrollment is due November 1st and all trainings and background checks need to be completed by December 1st.

Did you forget to pick up a project at the Door County Fair? We have some projects remaining. These can be picked up at the Extension Door County office during our open hours - Tuesday - Thursday from 9am - 2 pm. While we love the projects, they need to go home! As we wrap up another great fair, we’re grateful for the businesses, organizations, and individuals who helped make this year possible. Your support plays a big part in bringing the Door County Fair to our community each year.

We appreciate everyone who was part of making the 2026 fair one to remember!

The Silence That Follows the Fair

Sunday begins like every other day of the fair.

Exhibitors arrive early to feed and care for their animals. The grounds are peaceful and quiet before the day begins—some of the most special hours of fair week.

Then the fairgrounds slowly come to life. Families arrive, the rides begin their familiar clinking and clanking, and the air fills with music, laughter and sounds from the grandstands.

For a while, Sunday feels like every other fair day.

But then 4:00 arrives, and the exhibits begin to leave. Animals are loaded, projects are gathered and families start saying goodbye. The barns slowly empty, the rides stop turning and the midway begins to shut down.

By 6:30 or 7:00, you can stand at one end of the fairgrounds and look all the way to the other without seeing the sea of people that filled it only hours earlier.

After months of preparation and five days filled with animals, exhibits, rides, music, laughter and memories, everything suddenly becomes still.

Then comes the silence that follows the fair.

It isn’t simply quiet. It’s the absence of all the people and sounds that brought these grounds to life. It’s exhaustion, relief, pride, sadness and overwhelming gratitude all tangled together.

So, as the 2026 Door County Fair comes to a close, we simply want to say thank you.

Thank you to the exhibitors who spent months preparing their animals and projects.

Thank you to the parents, grandparents, leaders and families who supported them every step of the way.

Thank you to our volunteers, workers, superintendents, judges and board members who gave their time, energy and talents.

Thank you to our sponsors, vendors, entertainers and community partners who helped make this week possible.

And thank you to every person who walked through our gates, cheered from the grandstands, rode the rides, visited the exhibits and made memories with us.

For five unforgettable days, this little piece of Door County was alive with something truly special.

You created the laughter, the excitement, the traditions and the memories. You are what makes the Door County Fair so much more than an event.

You are what makes it ours.

🐾 Happening today at the Door County Fair!

Stop by the Pavilion by the park anytime between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. for the 4-H Dog Showcase! Come watch our talented 4-H members and their four-legged partners show off what they’ve learned. 🐕🍀

It’s a fun event for the whole family—we hope to see you there!
