TOMORROW!!! 🥳❤️🎶 THURSDAY, APRIL 13th!! I am so excited for this showcase! It’s been a while, and if I haven’t seen you, I would love to see you tomorrow night. Until we find a new open mic venue, I’ve just been focusing on some other things, but I really do miss our community so much!

We have a fantastic and incredibly talented line-up for this month’s Thursday Night Spotlight !! Y’all know me and I love a little bit of everything and there’s nothing like an awesome eclectic lineup of singer/songwriters! 🤗🥳🎶

David Whiskey will be opening the show with his country western style songwriting and his love for Loretta Lynn, Joshua Hayes has his amazing voice, magically crafted tunes with a 70’s vibe, Olivia Burnette will share her relatable, well crafted catchy songs that I find humming in my head all the time, Broadway B will have his band and perform his upbeat and Infectious songs and stage presence that keeps you smiling through his whole performance, and Cyan will close the show with her incredible voice, songwriting and talented band!! This will be my first time seeing her perform with a band, so I’m super excited!

** ANNOUNCEMENT ** After a short run, unfortunately, we will have to depart from 🦄 ANIMAL BAR 🦄 for Open Mic. We have had an absolutely fantastic attendance every single week, however, people are not buying drinks and food at the bar. This being the case, as nice as the stage and sound is, etc., it’s just not a good fit for our community, price wise.

I apologize for the false start. For everyone that I had booked through mid August for Featured Artist… I am truly sorry and I apologize! I want to thank each, and everyone of you that has come out to support and shared their amazing talent on the stage! I’d like to thank Jared for running sound, and for Jonathan Giambra for taking stories.

Like I’ve said in the past, it’s not about the venue, it’s about the community, and we will find a new place. I’m sure there is a way we can manifest this! I would like to keep the venue in the North Hollywood or adjacent areas (Burbank, Hollywood, Studio City).

3/15/23 - Part 4 - The end of the evening was magical!!! My friend Devin Collins was in town from Florida, and he stopped in to surprise me, and it was so great to see him perform! I truly feel the love from all of you guys and I know how lucky I am to have you all in my life!! Music is so important whether you make it or listen to it!! It’s good for the soul!! It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are or where are you come from… Music brings us all together!!! You guys rock!! ❤️🤘🏻🎉🎶🔥

She’s performed some of her really amazing originals, including a new one!! On top of that, she sang some really cool covers and I really loved how she made them her own! 🎤 Guitar & Bass Cabs - if you have your own amp head and speaker cable you can use these. We do not have any combo amps, so guitar & bass players that prefer to play through an amplifier must bring their own. Otherwise, you can plug directly into the system.

🎤 Keyboard Players - You must bring your own piano/keyboard. We have a Double X keyboard stand available.

🎤 Yes, we can play your backing tracks from your phone via 1/8” or Lightning Jack output, anything else, please bring your own adapter.🤗

3/8/23 - Part 4 - Y’all…Archer Valentine was in the house with his band … WOAH! They were sooo good and Archer definitely put on an Archer Show in Archer style! 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻

is back in town for good now, so that was a treat! sang his new release “Goodbye Bitch”. And Jared, our sound man, got up and played us a new song he just wrote, called “Fireflies”.

I would like to thank Jonathan Giambra for posting stories. He will be helping me out every week with that from now on.

It was a really great night! I know there’s a handful of you that haven’t made it out, yet, and I’m looking forward to seeing you when you can make it out!! 🎶🤗❤️

3/8/23 - Part 3 - **ANNOUNCEMENT** Y’all I absolutely LOATHE the LOTTERY SYSTEM! I can’t do it anymore! LOL 😂 SO, I am going to go back to the FIRST COME FIRST SERVED sign-up starting this week coming up on 3/15/23. This community and myself are too free spirited for a lottery system. I think it works for other mics, but it doesn’t work for this one! Also, having a back line, it makes it easier to plan when bands sign up. Also, I know some of you drive from far away or take the metro and have to leave by a certain time in order to make it back home. I don’t want to alienate anyone! ❤️ I love y’all!

So…with that being said, make sure to get there early if you would like an early spot. So, yes, the urgency to get there early is back! For my regular early birds, please try and mix it up a little and give others a chance to go first. Thank you 🙏 ❤️

3/8/23 - Part 1 - our Featured Artist this past Wednesday was Olivia Burnette !! Olivia has come along way in the past year and a half or so that I have known her and this was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen her do! I love her songwriting and her genuine presence on stage. She really writes some really da&mned good songs!! You guys definitely need to follow her on Instagram and check out her music! I love the stories behind her songs. I’m glad we have a really great sound system at Animal Bar (Thank you ), because you could reeally hear the nuances and expressiveness in her voice on Wednesday. What an awesome performance!! ❤️🤗🎶
