MAP The Island Run M.A.P. The Island Run:
Running To Fight For Mental Health and Parkinson's (MAP) Awareness

On Friday July 22nd, Wai Law (aka William) will set off on his latest solo adventure from Stony Brook University (SBU) to run a complete loop around the entire perimeter of Long Island. This will be a 2-part (over 2 long weekends) journey covering over 320 miles. The route will run through some of the beautiful coastal towns of the North and South Shores and stretch east to the tips of the Twin Fo

rks (Orient Point and Montauk Point) and west to New York Harbor/East River passing through some of the iconic landmarks in Brooklyn and Queens. The goal is to bring awareness while raising funds for 2 great local programs at Stony Brook University:
- The Thomas Hartman Center for Parkinson’s Research – dedicated solely to basic science research into the causes of Parkinson’s disease and its symptoms.
- The Adolescent Medicine Fund for Excellence – helps our Department of Adolescent Medicine provide mental health support and other critical resources to young people on Long Island. As local as they may sound, the missions of these programs reach far beyond Long Island and positively impact the lives of many. Through this personal journey, we can show patients and their families that they are not alone and help is only one step away.

Hey friends, I’m at it again!!!

It's 50 days to the Labor Day Weekend, just looking ahead and wondering…
- How does running or walking a 4-mile loop sound to you?
- How about running it 50 times or 200 miles in one go?
- What if I say I want to have it done in 48 hours to make the Labor Day BBQ?

Mark your calendar (8/30 – 9/1) and come out to run/walk with me. The start/finish of each loop will be at the Green Street Eatery located at 7 Emerson Avenue Levittown NY 11756.

We are dedicating this run to support 2 amazing local organizations with missions reaching far beyond Long Island and positively impacting the lives of many:
1) The Thomas Hartman Center for Parkinson’s Research at Stony Brook University – dedicated solely to basic science research into the causes of Parkinson’s disease and its symptoms.
2) Agape Meals for Kids – directly addresses childhood hunger and food insecurity faced by children on Long Island through their Meals for Kids Backpack Weekend Program.

Stay tune for more info how you can support my latest journey to create lasting footprints for years to come.🙏

Day 6 is done! Please watch and please donate. Please listen to Wai’s words carefully. Please help make a difference. Every dollar counts. Think of those you love, young and old. Think of those we know who struggle with mental health, especially our children and their friends. Think of anyone who you know who has lost a loved one with Parkinson’s. Make a donation in their honor. Wai has 26 miles tomorrow, give us names to dedicate miles too. Post those names on your donations. We will mention each and every one of them and run in their honor. God bless ❤️
