Welcome Back to what is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year in Oklahoma! The 2024 Payne County Classic Squirrel Hunt Championship! After the success of the first ever squirrel hunt last year, we are excited to host this years event with the same fun and a few new changes TO PROMOTE YOUTH PARTICIPATION! Read below for full details on the 2024 Squirrel Hunt:
- WEIGH IN LOCATION: 9315 W Fagan Lane, Stillwater, OK 74075
- REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, Jan. 19th by 6PM Contact Brent Wellings to Register
- Calcutta Auction will be held on Friday, Jan. 19th at 6PM and is sure to include plenty of spirited trash talking among the Big League Contestants. Come have fun and participate in the Calcutta bidding. 10% of this year's calcutta proceeds will be donated to the Oklahoma Youth Hunting Program. With 90% paid out to the person holding the winning Big League Team!
- Big League Contest - Entry fee is $60 per 2-man team, with cash payouts to the top 3 teams. $10 of each team entry fee will be placed in the Youth Contest winning pot to help give
more prize money to our winning youth! Winning teams will be judged on the HEAVIEST BAG OF 8 SQUIRRELS!
- Youth Contest - Entry fee is $10 per contestant, with cash payouts to the top 3 contestants in the youth division. AND a
prize for each youth contestant present at the weigh in. Youth contest will be on an individual basis with the Winners selected on the HEAVIEST BAG OF 3 SQUIRRELS!
- Biggest Squirrel Contest - All participants have the option to enter the Biggest Squirrel Competition for an entry fee of $10. All proceeds from this entry will be awarded to the hunter who harvests the heaviest squirrel!
- Gun Raffle - Brent Wellings will be donating a gun this year to be raffled off at the conclusion of the weigh in! All proceeds from the raffle drawing will be donated to the Oklahoma Youth
Hunting Program. More details on the gun to come!
- Follow the Rules! All participants must hold a valid Oklahoma Hunting License and observes all rules and regulations of the Department of Wildlife. NO CHEATING WILL BE TOLERATED,
this event has turned into a great success, lets all keep it that way.
