This Page is to keep the masses connected with our Charity races that happen every year in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and the surrounding areas, as well as connect runners from all over the world. Run Rabbit Run not only has one of the largest Purses for an Ultra ($60,000 +) Race, Each year, after the conclusion of our event, we choose which charities will get our bunny money. Hey, course records for both men's and women's 100 mile winners - Hannah Algood and Ryan Sullivan. And we have to do a special shout out to William Ieuter, for his tenth finish (and 1000 mile buckle) and to our good friend Cara Marrs and Tim Widmer for their 500 mile buckles. Way to go!

And did you know that the kids and families cheering you on at the Long Lake aid station were from the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club’s ski jumping and Nordic Combined program? These kids are in an incredibly challenging sport, and it was great for them to be on the other side, cheering on athletes in another incredibly challenging sport.

Hey Bunnies and Turtles,

First of all, congrats to all of you weally gnarly wunners who gave it their absolute best through some of the worst conditions imaginable out there: torrential rain, mud, hail, thunder, lightning - you name it. You bunnies and turtles are really, really tough.

At 75 years old, Steve Rossi is proving that age is just a number as he prepares for his fourth attempt at the Run Rabbit Run 100-mile ultramarathon in Steamboat Springs this fall. With two successful finishes already under his belt, Steve is aiming for his third completion with a goal of crossing the finish line in 36 hours. But this year, his motivation goes far beyond the finish line. He’s dedicating every mile to his brother-in-law, who is battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer, turning an incredible endurance challenge into a powerful tribute of love and support.

Hey Bunnies and Turtles!

Race day is like just a few weeks away, and here are some important updates:
    1     Waitlist. We are going through our waitlist, and rather than send invites, if you are interested in running, you need to contact us in the next few days and tell us. If we don’t hear from you, we will assume you’re not interested in running and your name will be removed. You have until first thing Wednesday.
    2    Before asking questions, please read our website and Runners Manual. If you ask, and we ignore you, it means the answer is on our website!
    3    We are DESPERATE for volunteers and we especially need a few more sweeps. If you can help out, please let us know.
    4    Hares, it’s time to pick out your teammates.  There’s $5,000 to be had! We know of several women who are looking to get teamed up. Let us know!
    5    And how about our $1500 predict the winners contest? Send your picks in (men and women winners, 50 and 100 miler, and the top team.
    6    Finally, looking for a few more good men (and women)! Recruiting participants for a research study examining how creatine supplementation may affect ultramarathon performance, diet, body composition, and cognitive function.💰 $250 compensation for completing the study — enough to cover ~½ of your race entry fee!Interested in participating? A quick shout out! Race day is just a month away and we sure could use some volunteers, from sweeps to helping at the finish line to all sorts of things! Remember, we are a charity race (over the past years we’ve donated over $750,000 to various charities in northern Colorado, mostly helping kids, $82,000 last year alone) so your time and efforts are going to a good cause! Run, Rabbit, Run: Team Challenge, Preem & Prediction Contests
Compete for additional cash prizes on top of the individual purse! Check out the rules and prize breakdowns below.
1. Team Challenge ($8,500 Total Purse)
Win up to $5,000 for your duo in addition to individual race payouts.
Prize Breakdown
* 1st Place: $5,000 ($2,500 per runner)
* 2nd Place: $2,500
* 3rd Place: $1,000
Rules
* Team Structure: One female runner and one male runner.
* Eligibility: Both members must enter as Hares in the 100-mile race, follow all Hare rules, and finish within the official time limit.
* Scoring: Fastest combined finish time wins.
* Deadline: Submit or update your team name by September 13, 2026.
* Note: A minimum of 5 teams must enter for the Team Challenge to take place.
2. $1,000 Gondola Preem
Be the first to sprint to the top!
Rules
* Eligibility: Must run as a Hare and finish the entire race within the official time limit.
* Payout: $1,000 for the first male and $1,000 for the first female to reach the top of the gondola.
* Requirement: If the first runner to reach the top does not finish the race within the time limit, the prize rolls over to the next fastest runner at the gondola who completes the race.
3. Predict the Winners Contest ($1,000–$1,500 Prize)
Test your handicapping skills using Harvey's picks!
How to Win
* Base Contest ($1,000): Correctly predict all 4 individual race winners:
* 100-Mile Male Hare
* 100-Mile Female Hare
* 50-Mile Male
* 50-Mile Female
* Bonus ($500): Correctly predict the winning Team Challenge duo to boost your total prize to $1,500.
Rules
* Eligibility: Open to all registered 50-mile and 100-mile runners (1 entry per runner). You must finish your own race within the time limit to claim the prize.
