Mary Baldwin women's basketball came up short at home today, falling to William Peace 75-68 in a conference matchup.

The Fighting Squirrels were on their heels early as the Pacers jumped out to an 11-0 lead. Sophomore Carma Bryant stopped the run with a jumper from the free-throw line, putting Mary Baldwin on the board.

Senior Davyne Johnson ignited the offense in the first quarter, pouring in 12 points to lead all scorers. Johnson shook defenders with confident ball-handling and drilled a step-back 3-pointer to spark the home crowd.

Johnson carried that momentum into the second quarter and finished the half with 16 points, but Mary Baldwin trailed 43-29 at halftime.

The Fighting Squirrels showed renewed energy in the second half, fueled by freshman Naveah Clark off the bench. Clark provided a lift with seven second-half points, while Johnson continued to attack, adding nine more points to finish with a season-high 25 for the Arizona native.

William Peace answered every push by controlling the paint, scoring 40 points inside. The Pacers' defensive pressure kept Mary Baldwin from finding a consistent rhythm.

Mary Baldwin will play their next game tomorrow, Tuesday at home against N.C. Wesleyan, with tipoff set for 3 p.m.

Mary Baldwin women's basketball picked up a solid 57–47 win at home Wednesday, thanks to a huge second quarter and some late-game fireworks.

The Fighting Squirrels blew things open in the second period, outscoring Christendom 16–4. Freshman Lanie Bethel stepped in with confidence, dropping 10 points and hitting threes at a smooth 50%.

On the defensive end, Mary Baldwin turned up the pressure—forcing five turnovers and holding the Crusaders to just 1-for-19 shooting in the quarter. Christendom couldn't buy a bucket, going 0-for-7 from deep as the Squirrels locked down the perimeter.
In the fourth quarter, senior Davyne Johnson took over. She poured in nine points in the final frame and finished with 15, putting the game out of reach.

Freshman Shyla Williams had the glass sparkling as she racked up 14 rebounds, one shy of her career high.
The Squirrels added some flair late as well—junior Malia Bullock used some slick handles to shake her defender, setting up an easy two for fellow freshman Carma Bryant during a 19–12 closing stretch. Bullock finished the game with an impressive 10 rebounds and seven assist, making her presence felt
Mary Baldwin is back in action Monday, December 15, when they host conference opponent William Peace at 2:00 p.m.

Tough night last night on the road for Mary Baldwin Women’s Basketball, as the Fighting Squirrels fell to Methodist University with a final score of 41–60.

Mary Baldwin kept things close in the first half, heading into the break down just 20–24 after battling through a defensive grind on both sides. But in the second half, Methodist found their rhythm, stretching the lead and pulling away as the game went on.

Despite the loss, the Mary Baldwin squad showed hustle and heart—especially in that first half—and they’ll look to regroup and bounce back stronger in their next matchup.

Stay locked in, Squirrels fans. Better games ahead! 🏀💛🩶

HUGE WIN FOR THE SQUIRRELS! 🏀💛🩶

Our Mary Baldwin University Women’s Basketball team pulled off an incredible road victory tonight Friday, November 21, taking down Meredith College in a nail-biter, 56–55!

This one came down to heart, hustle, and absolute determination. The team stayed locked in from start to finish, battling through every possession and showing unbelievable composure in the final moments to secure the one-point win.

Proud is an understatement — this squad earned it. 🔥

Way to represent, Squirrels! On to the next game tomorrow vs Methodist University at 3pm!🐿️💥

Tough loss for MBU last night. They played a close game all night. Our Fighting Squirrels gave it their all but fell to Randolph College, 72–58.

Mary Baldwin Women’s Basketball fell to Bridgewater College tonight, 74–37.Despite the tough loss, the Fighting Squirrels showed resilience and continued to compete with heart from start to finish. 💛💪
