Hello Music Friends!

It looks like it might be a rainy Staunton Jams this weekend, so sign up for busking as you are comfortable, and feel free to bow out if the weather is inhospitable. The forcast for Friday, May 3rd looks fantastic, so if anyone would like to busk on Friday, you can sign up for a slot and location on the City's Street Performance application site: https://www.stauntondowntown.org/street-performers
- There are TWO applications to fill out: 1.) a blanket acoustic street performance permit request that's good all year 2.) a date and location specific permit request that will get you on the public street performances calendar.
- Keep in mind that Beverley Street closes to vehicular traffic at 4pm on Friday for folks to set up for "Shop and Dine Out," so parking is available on intersecting streets, the two parking garages, the Wharf lot.

Staunton Jams is excited for the next iteration of our Downtown Festival coming in just a few weeks on May 3-5, 2024 and there will be an opportunity to sign up for busking at TWO locations downtown.

Mark your calendars and look out for a Google Doc for signups for 1 hour timeslots for (acoustic- only) street performances on May 4th in Downtown Staunton in conjunction with Staunton Jams!

Even with all the spring blooms, it's looking like the weekend forecast is not going to give us the most favorable busking weather this time.

Although, it would be a great time to stay in and play music with your family and close friends. Send us a video!!

There are lots of ways to make Staunton more of a music destination than it already is -- busking is just one of them. Because of the pandemic, busking seems to be one of the few best ways to safely hear live music performed. But what do you think of busking? We would like to know!
