Happy Labor Day from Polk Family Lights! 🇺🇸

While everyone else is enjoying a well-earned day off, we’ll be celebrating the traditional way—hanging Christmas lights in the Georgia heat and questioning every decision that brought us here. 😂

Because apparently 40,000+ lights don’t hang themselves.

💻🎄 Tonight’s holiday magic involves… software updates!

We’re upgrading the controllers that tell thousands of lights when to blink, sparkle, and show off. If all goes well, the display will be better than ever. If not, every light may just do the Macarena. 😂

We just watched the xLights Around the World reveal for this year’s new songs, and it never gets old seeing our display light up alongside hundreds of incredible shows from around the world!

It’s pretty amazing what happens when a whole lot of Christmas-light enthusiasts decide to synchronize their yards. 🌎🎄✨

We know we haven’t posted much lately, but we promise we haven’t been sitting in the dark. 😂

The Polk Family Lights crew has been busy untangling cords, testing bulbs, and asking, “Do we really need more lights?”

The answer was obviously YES. 🎄✨

We’re excited to announce that we’re on track to nearly DOUBLE last year’s light count! Our electric meter is nervous, the neighbors may need sunglasses, and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.

Stay tuned—things are about to get BRIGHT! 💡

It’s Throwback Thursday: pictured here is our very first controller from way back in 2013. We no longer use it but it sits on my work bench as a reminder of all those horrible strip lights I soldered all those years ago…

Oddly enough this old dinosaur is still sold today… although it’s pretty much only good for controlling flood lights now…

😂 Hey friends, if you’ve been poking around the website since Friday… you probably witnessed the great meltdown of 2026!
I’m officially blaming Heat Miser — that fiery troublemaker is getting coal for life! 🔥☀️
Good news though! I’ve got a temporary page up and running, and yes… I may have hidden a couple of Easter eggs in there for you to find 👀 Go play detective!
In the meantime, I’ve got the elves cranking away on a brand new, upgraded page. They’re working overtime and singing carols, so it’s gonna be good 🎄✨
