Happy Valley Restaurant Week returns June 12-21 and we want you to eat for FREE! Read on for the delectable details. 🤌

Our team currently has in its possession an overflowing treasure trove of gift cards for participating Restaurant Week restaurants.

While we considered parading down College Ave and tossing them off of a Restaurant Week float, we decided to do some fun social giveaways instead.

So.. up first! Let’s build some excitement for Restaurant Week before the event kicks off on June 12! If you win in this round, you’ll have your gift card in hand day one so you can get out and eat right away.

🎁The Prizes: Ten (10) $75 gift cards (There’s one for each participating restaurant, your choice which one you take home! First come, first served.)

Happy Valley Restaurant Week is back for another year of culinary celebration and is kicking off in just a few weeks, June 12-21!

New this year? Instead of concocting new dishes for the event, restaurants will be highlighting their best of the best. The most-loved dishes that keep diners coming back again and again! (And dishes that we can enjoy all year long!)

In honor of this year’s theme of Restaurants’ Greatest Hits, we’re testing your local culinary knowledge with a little quiz.

Chef Brittney Pereda of Pine Grove Hall has created a “refreshing flavor bomb for the summertime” with a burst of umami flavors that keep you wanting more. She smashes the cucumbers to create a more juicy and flavorful bite and tosses them with an asian inspired vinaigrette.

The porch at Pine Grove is a summertime haven and provides the perfect ambiance to enjoy fork fulls of this shareable salad. Pereda suggests pairing this dish with bartender Sc’Eric Horner’s craft cocktail, Shadows & Fog, or a light beer.

At the bar, Horner tells us about his Expressionist cinema-inspired drink and how it plays with light and dark and shadows. He shows us the very pretty bottle of Nàdar gin he uses to make this cocktail and explains that it is the world’s first climate positive gin, made from fermented peas.

Touring bands will be performing all through the summer at this state of the art music venue. Chef Brittney is excited for the summer time menu changes featuring summer vegetables from local farms — and the pizzas brought over from sister restaurant Flour and Stone.

Andy Lee opened Tastyk Pennstate in downtown State College in October of 2023 and says it’s been great. “Our neighborhood is fantastic. We’re going to make it famous.”

Check it out for Happy Valley Restaurant Week when Tasty K will be featuring a the Cheesy Rub they launched last HVRW (“This is only available during this event!” says Andy.) in addition to the traditional red gochujang-based sauce or black soy-based sauces.
