Marie and I would like to take a moment to give an update on the opening of the campground and the cottage rentals here at Sandy River Alpacas. While we would love nothing more than to have the campground and cottage rentals ready to open in 2022, there is just too much that needs to be done. To give everyone a little better perspective, we are taking two existing structures and completely renovating them. They will be the two cottage rentals. The larger unit will have its own kitchen, bathroom, living room and will accommodate up to 4-guests. The other unit will be more of a room rental. It will have a queen-size bed, small frig, microwave, its’ own detached kitchenette, and full access to the bathhouse. We need to install 3-septic systems, add additional underground power for all of the new changes, build the bathhouse which will have two bathrooms and two showers, build a second bathroom with two bathrooms and one shower. Finally, we need to finish clearing the tent sites and build the platforms for each site along with a multitude of small, but important details. Marie and I do all of the work ourselves with the exception of hiring out the septic systems and the power.
Our highest priority is that when guests do come and stay with us, they have a fun and positive experience. If we were to rush through just to simply have something open it would not be a positive experience for anyone. We are very excited about this new venture and cannot wait to be able to share our little piece of paradise with all of you. So, having said all of that, we will be opening the campground and the cottage rentals in the Spring of 2023. We will post regular updates on our page and website as we move forward.
