Today, SHS music students honored the Americans who have selflessly given for our nation. Students performed Taps at Stafford’s cemetery ceremonies, as well as Chamber Singers performed at the Wall of Honor Ceremony.

Shout-out to Quinn and Cailyn for braving the rain and playing Taps for the cemetery ceremonies. Thank you as well to the band and guard, Chamber Singers, and families for being flexible around changing plans with weather. Thank you to the town hall and the American Legion for including our students in the ceremonies, and looking forward to next year’s Memorial Day!

Good evening,

Following the cancellation of the Stafford Memorial Day parade, here is our plan for tomorrow:
•Band, guard, and chamber singers will not be performing at the five cemeteries in the morning. This is due to both adverse travel conditions across town, as well as woodwind instruments will not be able to perform in the rain.
•We will still have students perform Taps for each of the five cemetery services.
•Chamber Singers will perform at the 11:45 Wall of Honor ceremony. Students should still wear their Chamber Singers polos, as well as a rain coat or poncho. Call time for this will be 11:35am at the Wall of Honor itself.
•Students will also perform Taps at this ceremony.

Thank you for your understanding, I am glad that the music department will still be able to support the ceremonies that are happening and am excited for us to be back in full next year!

We had the chance to learn some of the choreography from the cast at Goodspeed Opera House today!

Thank you to Goodspeed Opera House for welcoming us today for a workshop with some of the actors, followed by seeing the current production of Jesus Christ Superstar! It was a special day with lots of memories.
