“Newlyw**ds” is an indie film that encompasses the Black creative culture within the borough of Brooklyn, NY at the time. It follows a young, stoner couple, Lyle and Nina, as they go through the ebbs and flows of life, work, relationships and the illicit w**d culture of the time. Part romcom, part coming-of-age, the film serves as a dialogue on growing through the shifts in life and in today’s setting, a reflection on the evolution of cannabis culture.

The film is directed by Shaka King who recently directed “Judas & The Black Messiah” and features Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo.
