The cotton is blooming!!!! We are FIVE weeks from opening the pumpkin patch this year. We hope you are making plans to visit! We will be open each Saturday in October as well as Monday, October 12th. We are looking forward to seeing you guys at the farm!

We got the first of three rows of sunflowers planted this morning. We plan to plant a row each week so they will be blooming throughout pumpkin patch season. Lamar had a vision of a sunflower patch, and we are making progress toward seeing his vision come to life.

We would like to share an amazing experience we had this morning. Mrs. Adria Gooch and the rest of this awesome team from Church of the Highlands volunteered their morning to help with some chores around the pumpkin patch. They mowed, weedeated, picked up limbs that had fallen in recent storms, and spread mulch hay. The most wonderful part of the day was when they prayed over the farm, our family, and the coming school year (a couple teachers in the group, IYKYK). Thanks again for all the work you guys did. God always has a blessing for us, often in the form of friends and neighbors.

With a neighbor’s help, we got the cotton planted today. How many of you guys have picked some cotton at the Pumpkin Patch? Get geared up to gather some this year, too! We will likely plant our sunflowers beside the cotton this season.
