Featured Runner Friday! Meet Chantell 💛🏃‍♀️

Chantell ran her second Spokane Marathon 10K this year, turning a personal challenge into something even more meaningful alongside her fiancé, Huntter. With a 2026 wedding ahead, their 2025 goal was simple: do hard things together and running became part of that journey.

From taking on Bloomsday (and feeling the humbling power of Doomsday Hill 😅) to building consistency through run walk intervals, they showed up day after day. Starting with one minute on, one minute off, they worked their way up to running three to four miles at a time, all while staying injury free and motivated.

Race day brought rain, but also incredible support from volunteers who kept them going every step of the way. A final boost near Hello Sugar, complete with cheers and treats, helped Chantell push strong to the finish 🙌 Next up they’re eyeing the half marathon… and maybe even the full 👀

For Chantell, running is more than fitness, it’s growth, perseverance, and sharing the journey with the people you love. Thank you Chantell for sharing your story! 🧡

Featured Runner Friday! Meet Ben 🏃‍♂️🔥

Ben has been running Bloomsday for the past ten years, but this year was different—he committed to training for his first marathon. Growing up with asthma, long runs were always a challenge, and past marathon attempts didn’t stick. But after working with a specialist and starting a twice daily inhaler, everything changed. With more breath and confidence, longer miles finally felt possible.

In summer 2025, Ben started training with his friend (also named Ben!) for the Spokane Marathon. Weekend after weekend, he hit new milestones and distances he’d never reached before.

Race day brought tough hills and the infamous Doomsday at mile 22, but the Spokane River views and city energy kept him going. Crossing the finish line after running every mile was a moment he’ll never forget 🙌

Now he has a whole new respect for distance running and pride in what his body can do. Grateful for the volunteers and already looking forward to more miles ahead. Thank you Ben for sharing your story✨
