Greetings buskers, music lovers and ALL THOSE that took part in 2026 Street Music Week. I want to congratulate you. Collectively we raised $24,453.88 this week for Second Harvest Inland Northwest and I’m so proud of this music community. Each year area musicians step up to help make the sidewalks sing. You use your time and talents to help people in our community. We can’t thank you all enough. THANK YOU!
Street Music Week would like to send an extra special thank you to our friends at the The Ella Fitzgerald Foundation. They matched the first $5000 that went into buckets. That’s a LOT of meals. THANK YOU!
Street Music Week would also like to send a sincere and giant thank you to John Huckabay. John is a long standing and most generous supporter of Street Music Week and Second Harvest, who again this year dropped his support in the red buckets. His help has supercharged our efforts to help Second Harvest and we are forever grateful. THANK YOU!
I want to thank the four location leaders that made this whole thing possible. Jenny Wayman in Coeur d’Alene, Julie Shepard in Garland, Janelle Smith and the crew at Wishing Tree Books in the south Perry neighborhood and Hank Greer in downtown Spokane. THANK YOU!
I also want to thank Doug Clark for getting this amazing event started 24 years ago. According to Second Harvest, over the past 24 years Street Music Week has raised a combined total of $420,807.62. THANK YOU!
The impact is real. Next year will be the 25th year of playing tunes for Second Harvest and we’ll be making a few changes to celebrate. The first change I want to tell you about are the dates. The first 24 years of Street Music Week was always the second week of June. In 2027, Street Music Week will be the third week of June, which is June 14-18. We’re making this move to hopefully include more students and teachers that have historically still been in school.
We’ll see you next year and thank you~
