Heck yeah!! 👍🏻
At 17 years old, Jamie Haynes was the youngest competitor at the 2025 AWDF IGP National Championship in Spencer, Massachusetts. Jamie's showing was her third time competing at a national championship. I hope that image inspires young handlers everywhere to make an audacious goal of earning a title for their dog.
IGP is something a family can do together. It is a wholesome and healthy environment for young people. Working dogs teach responsibility, and to earn a title, one must become disciplined and consistent, attributes that will serve over a lifetime. Dog clubs are often like an extended family that looks out for their members. Between time for school and training, little time is left for boredom to set in or for activities that might result in outcomes that could limit their future opportunities. Encourage young handlers every chance you have.
