A little piece of Hollywood history came through our doors, and it truly touched our hearts. ❤️
One of our wonderful guests brought in an original program from a 1940 showing of Gone with the Wind at Philadelphia’s Boyd Theatre, along with a beautiful 1936 hardcover of Margaret Mitchell’s novel.
And look at those ticket prices! A weekday matinee was just 86¢, evening orchestra and balcony seats were $1.14, and loge seats were $1.71—with taxes included. Imagine settling in to experience Scarlett and Rhett’s story on the big screen for the very first time.
There’s something special about seeing these pages and thinking of all the years they’ve been treasured. Long before we welcomed guests into our little cinema, people were gathering in theaters to share this same movie experience. These pieces make that connection feel beautifully real.
To our lovely guest, thank you for thinking of us and sharing your treasures. We know things like these can hold so much meaning, and getting to enjoy them with you was a privilege.
Moments like this remind us why we love what we do. The movies bring us together, but the people—and the stories they bring with them—make it unforgettable. ❤️
