Thank you for supporting Teagan and countless other precious kiddos!
She handled chemo like a boss. And then she rounded the bases.
Just before her sixth birthday, Teagan was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a type of childhood cancer.
After surgery, radiation and 28 rounds of chemotherapy, Teagan continued her treatment closer to home at Beacon Children’s Hospital, where Dr. Snyder and the pediatric oncology team became an important part of her journey.
Through it all, Teagan showed incredible courage. Even losing her hair couldn’t take away her confidence. As her mom put it, “She handled chemo like a boss.”
This summer, Teagan stepped onto the field for Home Run for Life, a Beacon Health Foundation event with the South Bend Cubs that celebrates the strength and courage of pediatric patients, rounding the bases as her family, caregivers and community cheered her on.
It was more than a trip around the bases. It was a celebration of her strength, her resilience and how far she has come.
This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’re celebrating Teagan and every child who faces cancer with courage.
Here’s to more moments when kids get to be kids.
