Every year since, the community of volunteers and the City of Sopchoppy have joined together and established our region's best Independence Day Celebration. Sopchoppy" and a group of his friends organized the first event. Our celebration kicks off in the morning with the Bill Stephens Americana Parade in downtown Sopchoppy. Rose Street is lined with enthusiasts of all ages and walks of life to watch this "one of a kind" parade. After the parade, the day continues on the bank of the pristine Sopchoppy River at Myron B. Hodge City Park . There you will enjoy mighty fine music performers and other entertainment, arts, crafts and food vendors, exhibits and kid's booths. As the sun sets and the moon rises, our celebration concludes with our "must see" fireworks display that fills the sky and the river reflects. We welcome you to join us in Sopchoppy where we all celebrate our independence. Once here, you will understand why we say, "Sopchoppy & Easy Living Go Together." See you in Sopchoppy!
