Appalachian Day

Sunday definitely had a family vibe, it was great to see so many familiar faces. A perfect ending to an amazing weekend ❤️

First up was Honoring Craft and Culture A Conversation with Appalachian Story Collectors. Featuring short films by
and .lyk
This was followed by a panel from the filmmakers in which they discussed their inspirations, techniques, obstacles, and observations of being a storyteller in Appalachia. The panel was not only insightful, but it was extremely inspiring. The future of storytelling is bright!

Next up, a special screening of
The episode took place in Lawrenceburg where interviews the one and only A candid and heartwarming interview about balancing music, kids, fame, and her garden. Plus a couple of unforgettable performances. We can't wait to see the whole season!

A great way to cap off the inaugural BMFF.

Appalachian Morning

We started things off with a delicious Appalachian breakfast from
Eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy and fried apples 😋

Then and took us to church! Definitely a spiritual experience, there was not a dry eye in the house. They debuted their new song Old Driveways, it's one of the emotionally powerful songs you will ever hear. We also debut the music video for Old Driveways, filmed and recorded at by

Next up, the amazing she has a voice that hits you to the bone. She is a storyteller at heart. John Prine would be jealous that he didn't write Room Without A View! It's so good. Her songs didn't pull any punches, they are about the human experiences, and she sings them with so much conviction.

What a great morning, it felt like home ❤️

Saturday Night After Party

We had a blast!

Emma and her band were awesome. They effortlessly weaved between originals and covers. So much fun that even Kim was dancing! Emma is definitely influenced by Stevie Nick's, but with a little more grit and a lot more sass! The band was rolling, and the drinks were flowing. Make sure you catch them at their next show and put on your dancing shoes!

I feel like everyone got to witness something special being born with the addition of Jarley's new drummer! What a performance! Just in your face, raw and unapologetic ROCK N ROLL! The whole bars jaws were on the floor. They look and sound like they just stepped outta a time machine from the Dazed and Confused set and they are the nicest dudes around. This band is heading to the stratosphere, check them out!

Big thanks to for hosting.

What a great panel! Very insightful from three levels of production. There was one common theme, you must be passionate about your art because if you don't give a s**t, how can you get other people to care? There's no secret formula to working in the industry, passion and hard work, simple!

We had some great film blocks, highlighted by our Appalachian and Short Film wimners.. This is Pike County and

The screening of this episode really set the tone for the whole weekend. The subject of "imposter syndrome" came up several times over the three days. That question was answered with a resounding You Belong Here!

A very informative and inspiring speech from Louisville Film Commissioner and Chair of the Kentucky Film Leadership Council
