Smithville Lunartic 5K Race Join us for the after-dusk 10th Annual Lunartic 5K Race on Friday, July 31, at 8:30 p.m., Sailboat Cove. Be creative and Glow Wild with us!

All proceeds benefit the Smithville High School Cross Country Team. This race began as an idea by the Smithville cross country team boosters and coaches. The benefits: bring the community together doing something we love and help the team fund larger and more competitive races that require extensive travel. And where better to do this than our very own Smithville trails next to the lake? The Lunar

tic 5k at Smithville Lake will charm you with its winding course along the beautiful trails after dusk at picturesque Sailboat Cove. This point to point course will challenge you as you wind your way along the paved trail from Smoke and Davey toward the Sailboat Cove trailhead. You will be captivated by the beauty of nature as you run underneath the tree canopy among the headlamps and glow necklaces toward the finish where you will be certified a Lunartic! 📣PLEASE NOTE: The 2026 Lunartic 5K will be held on FRIDAY, July 31.

We're scheduling around not only the full moon but also MSHSAA dead week, which starts on August 1 and prohibits athletes from having any contact with coaches, and the start of the 2026-27 school year. We appreciate your understanding and your support of the Smithville HS Cross Country Team.

Thank you to all who came out to our 'little fundraiser' last night. It was quite a night! We had 188 official finishers last night!Congratulations to Joshua Zachary and Margaret Chamas for winning the men's and women's overall race and to Elysium Run Club for winning our team competition!

A huge thank you to all of our sponsors for their continued support. Thank you also to the boosters, coaches, and volunteers who helped make this a success!
