We'll be having some fun down at the rink Saturday!

This Saturday! Come on down the rink and celebrate a great winter! We've got great ice, huge snowbanks, fires to warm by, and this Saturday kids' skate rentals are FREE all day!

We'll be grilling brats, dogs and loading up hot chocolate. Come on down and skate!

Door County Pond Hockey Tournament Canceled for 2025

Sister Bay, WI – [10-16-24] – After careful consideration, the organizers of the Door County Pond Hockey Tournament announce the cancellation of the tournament scheduled for February 2025. This decision comes on the heels of cancellations over the past two years due to poor weather conditions. We understand the disappointment this brings to our dedicated players and fans.

Looking ahead, we remain optimistic about the possibility of a new outdoor ice system in Sister Bay for the 2026 tournament. We encourage everyone to stay tuned for updates as we explore new opportunities to revitalize this beloved event.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to bringing back the spirit of pond hockey to Door County in the near future.

Due to the current weather conditions and the long range weather forecast, we have made the decision to cancel the 2024 Door County Pond Hockey Tournament on February 10th.

All registered team fees will be rolled over to the 2025 tournament on February 8th, guaranteeing your division spot.

Our crew worked through the night to create as much ice as possible for pickup hockey today. These guys have lived at the rink for the last two weeks and with help from the parks and the rink crew have battled above freezing temps all week to make something for today. Thank you!

Food, beer and fires down here from 10 am - 4 pm and live music from 12-3 pm. Come on down, watch some hockey and have some fun at the rink!

OK folks, here's how it's going to work Saturday. We're working now to set up at least 4 rinks so players registered for the tournament can play DROP-IN PICK-UP hockey. There will be NO SCHEDULE. We plan to be up early and have rinks ready to play at 7 am to get as much time as we can before the warmest part of the day. We will have the big player tent as well.

Food, beverages, bonfires and beer will be available from 10am - 4 pm, with live music from Absolute Bratwurst from 12-3 pm.

Thanks to the Sister Bay Advancement Association and village parks staff for helping us pivot and still put on a great event! See you early Saturday!

We have bad news. Our crew did everything we could to save the ice, but with today's warm temperatures and the forecast calling for nearly 40 degrees on Saturday, we've made the difficult decision to cancel Saturday's pond hockey tournament out of respect for all the players traveling to get here.

Our crew has put in over 100 hours flooding the rink and making preparations for the tournament, but with warm weather today and warmer weather coming Saturday, we know the ice won't hold up for more than a couple of hours of tournament play.

We will continue to do everything we can to make ice on Friday, but we have called off the tournament to allow players and teams to change travel and lodging plans when they still can.

We hope to have good enough ice for pickup games and skating, and there will still be plenty of activity at the rink on Saturday, with live music from Absolute Bratwurst from 12-3 pm, games, a big heated tent and bonfires. There will be hot food from local restaurants, beverages and One Barrel Brewing Co. beer for sale at the warming house.

For everyone who will still make it here, we're going to put on the best party we can and make the best ice we can!

Hey folks, several days of above-freezing temperatures hasn't been great to our ice, but the 90 hours our crew put into making ice to build a base during our cold snap last week is giving us a fighting chance to pull off this weekend's tournament. We are going to see how it makes it through today's warm weather and make the call on Thursday. Our fingers are crossed and we'll do everything we can to make this happen!
