We’re proud to welcome the American Flight Museum to Power on the Prairie 2026 with the legendary AC-47 Spooky!

This historic aircraft will be on static display, with opportunities to step inside and tour the aircraft—a rare chance to get up close with one of the most iconic gunships in aviation history. From its Vietnam-era legacy to its unmistakable presence on the ramp, this is a must-see for history buffs and aviation fans alike.

Don’t be scared, come walk through history and experience Spooky up close.

IS THAT A BIRD, NOPE, THAT IS A SMALL JET WITH A BIG ATTITUDE.

Get ready for something you don’t see every day at Power on the Prairie 2026!

We’re excited to announce Mini-Jet Airshows is coming to Sioux Falls!

Built around a tiny but mighty SubSonex jet, this approximately 500-lb aircraft screams across the sky at speeds approaching 300 mph, delivering tight, high-energy aerobatics at low altitude. Expect rapid climbs, lightning-fast direction changes, and dramatic smoke trails that show just how agile this compact jet really is.

The Mini-Jet will also be joining us for Discover Aviation Day, Thursday, July 16th at Maverick Air Center.

Don’t blink — this jet is fast, furious, and unforgettable.

Get ready for an unforgettable opening to Power on the Prairie 2026!

The elite SOCOM Para-Commandos will kick off the airshow in dramatic fashion—descending from the sky to deliver the American flag and officially open the show.

And that’s not all… later in the day, the Para-Commandos will return for a high-energy aerial demonstration, showcasing precision parachuting, teamwork, and skill that defines these incredible airborne professionals.

You won’t want to miss a second of this jaw-dropping performance at Power on the Prairie 2026!

Hold onto your seats — a MiG-17 is flying in the 2026 Power on the Prairie Airshow!

This Cold War–era jet fighter, owned and operated by FIGHTERJETS INC., will make it's first appearance in the skies over Sioux Falls at Power on the Prairie 2026! Fast passes, classic lines, and the sound of early jet power will take you straight back to the dawn of jet combat aviation.

It is going to get fast and loud!

Honoring a Legend at Power on the Prairie

At Power on the Prairie, we proudly pay tribute to Joe Foss—South Dakota native, WW2 Marine Corps ace, and Medal of Honor recipient.

On static display, you’ll see two legendary aircraft tied to his extraordinary service:
F4F Wildcat
F4U Corsair

Story boards alongside the aircraft will walk you through how Joe Foss earned the Medal of Honor, highlighting his courage, leadership, and combat achievements during World War II.

WWII HISTORY COMES ROARING BACK TO LIFE!

We’re honored to welcome the Missouri Wing of the Commemorative Air Force to Power on the Prairie 2026 — and they’re bringing TWO legendary World War II warbirds with them!

The iconic B-25 Mitchell
The powerful TBM Avenger

See these historic aircraft up close, watch them fly, and—yes—you can even buy a ride and experience what it was like to fly in a WWII warbird. Stay tuned for more details about purchasing a ride in one of these amazing warbirds!

Both the B-25 and the Avenger will be a part of Discover Aviation Day, Thursday, July 16th and they will fly in the airshow on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19!

History buffs, aviation fans, and bucket-list seekers—this one’s for you.

Get ready for some serious high-energy aerobatics at Power on the Prairie 2026!

We’re thrilled to announce the NEXTGEN Eagles are officially joining the lineup!

Am I seeing double! No, these two beautiful aircraft will bring fast, precise, crowd-pleasing aerobatics that will have you looking straight up and cheering loud.

The NEXTGEN Eagle team will also be joining us for Discover Aviation Day, Thursday, July 16th at Maverick Air Center. Come out and meet the pilots and then on Saturday and Sunday, be sure to keep your eyes to the sky to see this team dance across the skies of Sioux Falls!

That means we’re officially entering announcement season.
From jaw-dropping performers to incredible static aircraft, we’ll be rolling out confirmations as they’re locked in — with seriously cool things to see both in the air and on the ground.

We’re thrilled to welcome CAF Rise Above!
They’re bringing:
• Their powerful Rise Above trailer exhibit, sharing the stories of the Tuskegee Airmen and the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs)
• And the star of the show — their iconic P-51C Mustang

History. Heritage. Horsepower.

This is just the beginning.
