Dear Friends,
A few days ago, SFBR gathered on a Sunday night at The Jones Building to ask—for the 8th time—“are we doing this another year?”

We’re saying farewell to one of our board members. We’re sad to see Alonzo leave us, Spoke-n-Sport, Sioux Falls, and the region. It’s been a privilege watching him grow into both a top-tier racer and mechanic. We wish him well as he moves to South Dakota’s west side. Is it too soon to visit?

SFBR is a lean organization. As Alonzo heads west, he takes with him our race director, treasurer, and a big share of the energy it takes to set a race course. Not to mention all the invisible things we’ll only notice when they don’t happen. With those gaps, the SFBR cake cannot be baked.

So two things… #1 We must bring SFBR Gravel Racing to an end. We are clearly and cleanly letting it go and hoping that something springs up in its place. #2 If SFBR MTB Racing is to continue, we need help—specifically, two people willing to step up and fill the Alonzo-sized hole. Regardless of the future of SFBR, we are thankful for 8 amazing years
of racing together and excited for the future of the sport.

What a season! 🚴‍♀️🌞
We had an awesome summer of racing at Tuthill—huge thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a blast!

We’re especially pumped about all the kids who joined the races in the Empire Section 🙌. Seeing the next generation of mountain bikers ripping around those trails is what it’s all about.

Massive thanks to Falls Area Singletrack (FAST) for building and maintaining such incredible trails, and to Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation for supporting both FAST’s work and letting us host races here. 💯

For now, we don’t have more races planned for 2025… but stay tuned 👀—you never know when something might pop up!

Our trail crew is running back to us to let us know we are on for tonight's races! Online pre-registration is open until 5pm! www.siouxfallsbikeracing.com Kid's race at 5:50, Junior's at 6:15, Beginner's at 7:00 and our advanced race will be at 7:45. We'll see you out there!

We've got a crew out assessing the trails right now. We'll have a report back this afternoon on the status of Tuthill and whether we'll be able to race tonight. Stay tuned!

We are watching the weather for tonight. It looks like right now we should be able to enjoy a nice warm, humid night of racing. But! We have a big favor to ask! We may need help doing a quick clean up of the park at the end of the night or if the weather starts moving in and we need to clear out! If there is lightning or the trails start getting too wet, we will need to suspend the current race, that will be up to our officials and race directors. We'll see you in a couple of hours!! .parks

is hosting a bike race tonight at Tuthill Park, and you’re invited—whether you’re ready to pin on a number or just want to cheer from the sidelines. Come ride, race, or hang out and soak up the energy. Let’s show some love for local racing and the trails we call home. These kids say that we are racing tomorrow night! Get registered at siouxfallsbikeracing.com! Pre-registration ends at 5pm Tuesday afternoon. We will be monitoring the weather, if the trails are too wet, we won't be able to race, but as of right now, I think we're in the clear! Start hydrating now if you plan to race tomorrow night! If you aren't racing, remember Mt Biking is a fantastic spectator sport! See you on the trials!! .parks
