Alley Art Festival Downtown Sioux City's premiere street art and music festival hosted by Vangarde Arts on Sept 5, 2026.

Beginning in 2019, local artists have been arting it up in the alleys of Downtown Sioux City in celebration of our annual Alley Art Festival. It was originally created to reinvent urban spaces with art and is part of an ongoing effort to enhance walkability between the Historic 4th and the Historic Pearl districts. The alleys currently feature murals created by over 40 local artists.

We are SO grateful for ALL 27 of our muralists for the time, skill, love and care that they poured into their Alley Art murals.

Painting a public mural isn't easy, with artists persevering through weather, pigeons, and other challenges that comes with creating in a public setting. We are SO proud of ALL of you!

Every year, Vangarde Arts, with the help of 3 judges and the Siouxland community, awards more than $3,000 to six muralists.

Congratulations to 2026's award winning muralists:

People's Choice: Daymoon Studio by Toryn Kelly

Vangarde Arts Board Award: Pez Felino

Honorable Mention: Jenna Jaffery

Excellence (3rd): Zeppelin Sulzbach

Superior (2nd): Daymoon Studio by Toryn Kelly

Best of Show (1st): Sam Turner

THANK YOU to ALL of the muralists, sponsors, committee members, Vangarde Arts, festival goers and everyone else who makes this festival happen year after year.

Pearl Renae, a Sioux City based painter, has been part of the Alley Art family for years, both as a muralist and vendor and has a keen eye for all things creative.

Morning rain turned into sunshine and smiles one week ago at the Alley Art Festival!

It’s a beautiful thing to see you all connect with the art, the artists, and each other. The alleys echoed with laughter from kids jumping in rain puddles and playing their new tambourines alongside the musicians all day long. It was a beautiful day! 🎨🌈

THANKS to the artists, vendors, musicians, volunteers, sponsors, and to YOU for jamming in the alleys with us!

YOU VOTED for your favorite mural, join us at Vangarde Arts Friday, September 25 at 7pm to see who will receive People's Choice, Best of Show, and other awards!
