To Prospective Members/Sponsors of NW Cutting & Cow horse Club (is what I have been calling it out of loss of what to call it, it isn’t permanent),
RE: Follow up to our first meeting
The purpose of creating this club is to encourage any one that would like to learn & participate in the sport of Cutting no matter your level of riding, your horse’s ability or your financial status. We would like this to be a member run club. We want to promote the sport of Cutting, the horses & its members. In doing so it’ll encourage member participation, good sportsmanship & the growth of the industry.
We had a dozen folks show up to our potluck meeting and lots of folks that weren’t able to come they emailed their thoughts, suggestions & requests. It was the same for everyone that they want a place to show their horse that is affordable, friendly, fun, drama & politic free…… PERFECT!!!! We are all on the same page.
We are shooting for shows & clinics (Judging & Turnback, etc) to begin in OCT.
Membership annual dues would be $25 for Family & $20 for Single
We are wanting to reach all types of Cow Horse Folks (Cutters, Working Cowhorse, Sorters & Penners etc)
Here is a list of classes that we could offer (if you have one that isn’t here please share it)
Open, Non-Pro, $5,000 Novice Horse, $15,000 Novice/Non Pro, $5,000 Novice/Non Pro, $2,000 Limit Rider, $1,000 Novice Horse, $500 Novice Rider, $300 Novice Horse, $250 Novice/Novice, $100 Novice/Novice, Green Horse, Senior & Junior Classes, Green/Green Class, Boxing Class, Herd Work Class, Ranch Cutting Class
We also discussed having futurities, Stallion Stakes, also looking to have donations for purse money to be split between classes (example- say we have $500 for purse money say we have 5 classes with at least 3 or 4 riders(that TBD) those classes we would split that $500). Buster also suggested that we have Judges of our Peers to save on costs. Looking for ways to save money for our members. We also discussed name suggestions??? Your input here please, thank you in advance.
