As you hopefully know, running a bike race takes a village. Here's a big list of help we got pulling this thing off:
Gary David and John Laupheimer ran a night race here for years, which is why we knew we could move our race here and it would work, and they gave us all their tips on how to run a race here which was super helpful.
Rose and Alex from the Lancaster Fairgrounds were both extremely helpful and extremely laid back about us setting up an event at their place on less than a week's notice.
BC High CX came through with food and drink after Sara called literally every single food truck in Massachusetts and not one was available for the race on 3 days notice.
Chris Busick, Dave Mingori, Mark Bernard and Rees Madsen from Minuteman Road Club let us borrow literally ALL their course equipment and didn't give us any grief for running an event at their venue ONE WEEK before their race. And then Dave went back on Monday to clean up a mess that I left behind by accident at midnight on Saturday.
Mike O'Connell of Endurance Threads brought 48 mini light towers so that we could more or less see everything we needed to see while racing.
Ryan Kelly talked about bike racing and played music that didn't suck for 8 hours. He also let me wander around with one of his mics for probably longer than he should have.
Christin Reuter and Lydia Hausle called and keyed numbers into the computer in increasingly poor light with such accuracy that we didn't make a single results correction at any point.
Lesli Cohen worked all day overseeing registration and checking vaccination cards.
Angelica Dixon took photos for us all day, and more impressively, all night.
Cosmo Catalano, Christine Fort, Mike O'Connor, Tom Urbanik and David Stearns built course with us ALL DAY Friday.
An army of volunteers to numerous to count or name took down the course in barely 90 minutes after the event, so we were out of there well before midnight!
All of YOU came out, didn't give us any crap about vax cards, didn't litter, didn't complain when you fell down on gravel corners, didn't complain about all the dark spots, and didn't break half as many stakes as I was expecting!
Thanks to everyone and we're preemptively sorry for whoever we forgot on this list. See you next year!!
Colin and Sara
