The Caddo Parish Schools annual job fair took place with the Athletic Department participating for the first time with its own table. Special recognition went to Coach Taylor of Summer Grove and Coach Carscadden of Fairfield Magnet for showcasing the district's physical education programs. Many individuals expressed interest in coaching positions at elementary, middle, and high school levels, demonstrating a promising pool of candidates.

Our certified orthopedic physicians, physical therapists and athletic trainers will be available to help ensure athletes are prepared for the season. We are proud to officially introduce our new Head Boys Basketball Coach, Coach Jeffrey Trent! 🏀🤠

A proud native of Ringgold, Louisiana, Coach Trent brings a legacy of excellence, leadership, and results. During his time at Ringgold High School, he led his program to 125 wins, 8 playoff appearances, 2 quarterfinal appearances, a Top 28 appearance, and 3 district championships! Earning District Coach of the Year honors three times along the way!

Coach Trent holds a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies from Grand Canyon University, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. More importantly, he is a man of strong character, committed to building relationships and developing student-athletes both on and off the court.

Family is at the heart of everything he does. He and his wife, Simico, are the proud parents of three amazing children: Simiuna, LaNyjha, and Ja’Tiree.

Coach Trent is ready to bring a culture of discipline, accountability, and excellence to the Ranch! We are excited for what’s ahead for Southwood Basketball!

The annual review of the school athletic constitution, attended by middle school principals and athletic coordinators, was a productive session. It allowed for the consideration of diverse perspectives and the implementation of important measures for the forthcoming year.
