Today’s highlight is CYALL creator and presenter, Brian Sherman!

Brian is the Dean of the Noel Memorial Library at LSU Shreveport. He has a Master of Science in Library Science and a master’s in history and is completing a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction. He’s taught young adult literature courses for secondary education majors and first year seminar courses for 15 years at LSU Shreveport, and formerly at McNeese State University. Previously, he has taught children’s literature, library science, and freshman composition. In 2018, he founded the Conference for Young Adult Literature Louisiana to provide professional development for educators and librarians, but also to serve as a venue for educators, authors, and scholars to discuss contemporary young adult literature. His passion in young adult literature is the result of seeing the power of young adult literature and its impact on reflecting the common and shared experiences of youth, a time in life when we are all still discovering our vulnerabilities and strengths.
