Important Reminders for Tagging Night

4-8pm
You MUST be in line by 8pm.
Enter at the upper end of the grounds, via Park Heights Avenue.
Goats and Lambs:
Must be castrated or initiated before arrival.
Must bear an official USDA/APHIS (Scrapie) tag.
Hogs:
Must be castrated or initiated before arrival.
Must bear an official 840 series radio frequency identification (RFID) tag.
Feeder Calves:
Must be completely castrated and healed before arrival.
Must be completely dehorned.
Must bear an official 840 series radio frequency identification (RFID) tag.
Market Steers:
Must be completely castrated and healed before arrival.
Must be completely dehorned.
Must bear an official 840 series radio frequency identification (RFID) tag.
*Animals not adhering to these rules will NOT be tagged with the official county ear tag.
*Livestock committee members will NOT be placing identification tags beyond the official county ear tag.
*Livestock committee members will NOT assist with banding or castration in the trailer/animal line.
*Trailers or vehicles with animals that do not qualify for tagging may be asked to exit the line and return when all requirements are met. This includes animals opting out of weigh-in. No tags will be issued until all requirements are verified.
*Additional tags in animal ears will not be removed by livestock committee members unless it is necessary to place the official county ear tag.
Exhibitors are encouraged to remove all tags beyond RFID or USDA (Scrapie) before arriving at the fairgrounds.
