Arts at Sheridan College

10/10/2026

Join us this Sunday at 4 p.m. in Kinnison Hall for a free concert by the Sheridan College Symphonic Band. This will be their first performance under the direction of Dr. Charles Tarver. Free tickets are required this year for seating and can be reserved in advance on our website.

Tarver is a former band member who returned to Sheridan after serving in the U.S. Foreign Service and recently completing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. The Sheridan native first joined the band 30 years ago while attending Sheridan High School.

“Playing in the Sheridan College Band was a life-changing experience for me. Having the opportunity to now conduct the band, with so many musicians who were, and still are, my teachers is the honor of a lifetime,” said Tarver.

We hope you'll join us in welcoming Charles into this new role on Sunday.
