This Saturday we celebrate our beloved Joe Mango!

The Mango All-Stars take the stage for a one night live streaming event to honor Mango.

All are welcome. Donations are greatly appreciated.

All donations will directly benefit the The Mary A. Schmecker Turtle Shell Fund, the non-profit that Joe and his family began, to build community through arts and to continue his grandmother’s legacy.

Tune in for sets from GOOSE, Fu,
Deep Banana Blackout, Breakfast. EGGY, The Alpaca Gnomes plus an all-star musician cast.

Set your reminders.
Keep Mango in your heart.
And let’s rage.

It is with the heaviest of hearts we share that our beloved Joe Mango, creator of Soupstock Music & Arts Festival, has passed on all too soon.

Joe was a consummate professional in every sense of the word; his rye sense of humor and his huge heart allowed each person he encountered to be endeared by him immediately and permanently.

Joe’s commitment and passion for the CT music scene and beyond is the stuff of legend. His favorite view was from the helm of his sound board and his greatest accomplishment was to build a legacy honoring his grandmother, Mary A. Schmecker.

Over 9 Soupstock’s, he brought community, music, soup, life and love together. I can say for myself and so many others that loved him deeply, a good size chunk of our souls have become untethered and only together we can begin to heal.

We would like to send love, strength and prayers to his immediate family, to our Soupstock family, to his BRYAC crew, and to everyone who loved him for a reason, a season or a lifetime.

Music is what he chose for his career, his path, his devotion in life, and so we will begin tonight to pay our respects to Mango, safely from our own homes. Wear your Soupstock shirts and please join us for two music live streams from:

5pm Eric DiBerardino of Tea Leaf Green
8:30pm Benny Mikula/The Lone Gnome

We will share the streams on this page as well.

If you’d like to contribute to help ease the financial hardship of saying goodbye, donations are welcome with details on each livestream.

“Your hands and feet are mangoes, you’re gonna be a genius anyway.”

In music & love,
Joey’s proud sidekick,
Nicole Mikula & The Soupstock Family

It's more of a formality at this point, but it needs to be said officially.

There will (can) be no Soupstock in 2020. An explanation is hardly necessary. Please be safe and healthy out there.
