Thanks to the generosity of our community at this past Saturday’s Junction City Jam Fest, we collected seven donated instruments (plus one from Bristol Blue Music!, who pooled money together to buy our theater a new guitar), a guitar amp and nearly $100 to put toward equipment for our growing music education programming. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Our instrument drive is ongoing, and we’re still accepting donations! If you have a gently used instrument gathering dust at home, consider giving it a second life by donating it to the Tecumseh Theater. ❤️

You can drop off your instrument during regular theater operating hours—Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—or bring it along to one of our upcoming shows!

Every donation helps us expand music education opportunities for young people in Southern Perry County. Let’s make some noise together!

Today we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a day of recognition and reflection that holds special significance for Shawnee, Ohio, the homeland of the Shawnee Nation.

We also extend our warmest wishes to Chief Glenna J. Wallace of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma as she celebrates her retirement. Wallace was first elected chief in 2006, becoming the first woman elected chief of any of the Shawnee tribes.

Among her many accomplishments, Wallace played a pivotal role in advocating for the preservation and recognition of Ohio’s ancestral earthworks. Her dedication helped bring greater attention to these sacred places, eventually leading to the designation of eight Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks as UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2023. All eight are located within the Shawnee homelands of Ohio. Wallace’s legacy is truly a testament to the resilience of the Shawnee people.

At Tecumseh Theater, we are committed to honoring the legacy of Chief Wallace, the Shawnee Nation, and the Indigenous people whose histories are inseparable from this land, today and every day.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of a community that recognizes and uplifts this heritage.

We were thrilled to host the 2026 Jenco Awards to celebrate all of the awardees!

This year’s awards carry special significance, marking 15 years of partnership between the Jenco Foundation and FAO – and more than 100 individuals honored for their service since this regional awards program began.
