The Summit of the Ozarks Theater Club is presenting their take on "The Secret Garden" this upcoming weekend (Friday and Saturday evenings May 29th and 30th). While this is not a Seymour Area Arts Council event, we support them in every way we can. This group of young folks are part of the future of performing arts in the greater Seymour area. This production is kind of special because all of the performers are under 13 years of age. The Club's performances are entertaining and an evening well spent. We hope that you will come out this weekend and really support an enthusiastic and hard working group of young people. We believe they will make you proud of our community.

Pay the admission. Purchase some concessions. Put a few bucks in for a chance at some awesome raffle prizes. Enjoy the performance. Mostly, enjoy that warm feeling you get when you support your community and its members.

We are working to fill our schedule. Kyle Rummens had to postpone due to his military obligations. Kyle is a local guy and we will do our best to work out a date with hi to reschedule. The Summit of The Ozrks theater guild will be using The Owen tor the next couple of weeks so We do encourage you to come onout to enjoy watching a very talented group of local youth present their take on the theatre of performing arts. The kids, the youth. and the parents all do a great job of representing our corner of the Ozarks.

Another reminder that our show with Kyle Rummens, initially scheduled for this Saturday, May 9th has been postponed until a later date. Kyle is in the National Guard and had a training opportunity that they scheduled for him. We will work with Kyle to reschedule. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Need to announce that the show with Kyle Rummens scheduled for Saturday, May 9th will have to be postponed to a later date. Kyle is a member of the National Guard and has been ordered to attend some training. This writer was in a similar situation many years back and it is just one of those things you cannot plan. Kyle put on a great show last year and we were looking forward to next Saturday. We will definitely try to reschedule him for later in the year. We will keep you posted.

Had a good show this past Saturday evening at The Owen. Local artist, Molly Clair and Company took the stage. Entertained us with some straight-up bluegrass music. Molly hails from Howell Co, in the Willow Springs area. She has been performing for several years now and is really doing well. Her band consists of stand-up bass, guitar, banjo, and Molly on the mandolin. A great evening of music, listening to young local artists. Always a fun time. So, if you missed it, here is a sample.

Would like to take this opportunity to remind our friends and neighbors that Molly Clair andCompany will perform at The Owen tonight. Molly hails from Howell County, in the area of Willow Springs. She performs locally and at area festivals. She also performs in most of our neighboring states as well as North Carolina and beyond. She has a great website with some samples of her music but she is an accomplished mandolin player as well as a great vocalist. She may be mostly known for her bluegrass chops but also ventures into some country as well. Additionally, many of her songs are takes on hymns.

Come to The Owen tonight and let us welcome her for her Seymour debut. Doors open around 6:30 PM, show starts at 7:00.The theatre will have concessions available and the admission is $10.

Our next show will be Saturday, April 25th when we will welcome Molly Clair to The Owen stage. This will be her first performance at our venue and we are stoked. We had Molly scheduled last year but as often happens, other things interfered. Fortunately for all, we were able to get this set up.

Molly hails from Howell County so she is a true Ozarkian. She is a singer and instrumentalist who specializes in Bluegrass but she is certainly capable of crossing into other genres when she wants. She does a great job on the mandolin and has awesome vocals. She will be accompanied by her band so it will be an evening of sound. Molly plays a lot of different places in the Ozark Mountains and has some clips on Facebook that you can catch. We really are excited to bring Molly and company to Seymour. They will be a great example of why we do what we do - - - - trying to bring local talent to our community and support our local artists in their endeavors. We encourage you to come out to see her debut in an intimate and funky listening room with great acoustic qualities.

A reminder that Johnny Mace and the County Line Band will bring us an evening of entertainment. The doors will open at 6:30 pm and the show will start at 7:00 PM. This combo presents their take on a lot of country and southern rock classics. Again, it is always a fun evening with Johnny and his County Line Band.

Coming up at Seymour's Historic Owen Theatre. We kick off April with Johnny Mace and the County Line Band on Saturday, the 11th. We follow on April 25th with a young lady from Willow Springs - Molly Clair and this will be her first visit. Saturday, May 9th a neighbor from Wright County, Kyle Rummens will return. The Summit of the Ozarks Theater Guild will "take over" The Owen for the week of May 25th with performances on Friday, the 29th and Saturday 30th. In June Ethan Jackson and his band will perform on Saturday, the 13th. We have also scheduled shows in July and August and are still adding to the list. We will keep you updated but this should serve to whet your appetite for the next few weeks. As with all of our Owens shows, the doors will open at about 6:30 PM and the admission is a bargain at $10. Hope to see you one or more evenings.
