America's Official Small Town 4th of July City, Seward, Nebraska invites you to join us for our 4th of July celebration! Seward’s population of around 6,000 people will swell to over 40,000 people for our old fashion, small town 4th of July Celebration. Annually our celebration includes around 100 events starting at 6:30 A.M. Seward’s celebration is run by an all volunteer committee which includes

leadership from local high school students. The celebration has received national media exposure on many occasions. Seward is located in eastern Nebraska and is a short 20 minute drive from Lincoln, the state capital of Nebraska. We hope that you will be able to join our community this year and celebrate the 4th of July with us as we have since 1868. If you are unable to join us in person, please join us in spirit. NEEDED: 1776 soldiers for July 4, 2026......USA250. We are looking for re-enactors of that time period to hang out with us at the NENG Museum (we will feed and take care of you during the day). Help us celebrate the 250th Birthday of the country! If you are interested....IM us and we'll see you next year!

50 years after it was dedicated by Seward businessman Harold Davisson, what’s considered to be the “World’s Largest Time Capsule” will open to the public in Seward on July 4th.
