Seneca MO FFA

Seneca MO FFA Seneca MO FFA is an FFA chapter of around 60 high school and 80 junior high school members.

It is a required component of all high school students that take an agricultural education class. Seenca FFA teaches high school students leaderhsip, community service, career success, and basic agricultural education. Our members become productive citizens and leaders within the community with background knowledge in agriculture. Before FFA, many of our young people lack leadership skills, feel b

ehind, and miss out on numerous youth opportunities. After graduting from the program, members feel capable of being leaders and wonder at the "magic" that occurred while they were in the program. Ultimately, Seneca FFA members become confident leaders and productive citizens in our community and the agriculture industry.

MOBio Career Tour Day 3…..strong to the end!! We stayed today with a fun, engaging experience at ThermoFisher and finished at Pfizer. I can’t even begin to list the numerous career prospects these students were exposed to over the last 3 days. In that short amount of time our students created potential career contacts, and developed some quality friendships with students from the other 4 FFA chapters that joined us. We are so very grateful for this opportunity!!

MOBio Career Tour Day 2….not as many pictures today as we toured companies with a lot of research. We started the day at Novus, followed by Bayer. During lunch we got to participate in a very interesting panel with 3 women who were instrumental in scientific start-up companies. After lunch we toured Inotiv. The evening finished up at Top Golf. What an amazing opportunity for our students to learn about the numerous careers available throughout this industry!!

We started our MOBio Career Tour today at MSSU. Did you know they have an agribusiness and pre-vet program? Students had the opportunity to engage with an Anatomage Table (think digital cadaver of many different species) and fell in love with the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Program. Our next stop was S&T in Rolla where we learned about their Green Roof, explored their Makerspace and made art with different colors of bacteria. We explored the greenhouses and peeked in labs at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and finished up the evening with Mellow Mushroom. Day 1 has been amazing. Even Mrs. Roller may have found something she wants to do when she grows up!!
